Thisonline learningmodule covers the requirements for the transport of hazardousmaterials
establishedby theU.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), the International Air Transport
Association (IATA), andother international regulatorybodies. These requirements applywhen shipping
materials suchas, but not limited to: laboratory chemicals, compressedgases, radioactivematerials,
biological agents, refrigerants, batteries, andequipment/instruments that containhazardousmaterials.
Participantswill be introduced to the ISUprocedure forofferinghazardousmaterials for transport,
packaging requirements, andwhere toobtainapprovedpackaging. Participantswill alsohavean
opportunity to takeabrief overviewon shipping radioactivematerials.
