18 Employee Helpful Stuff The departmental permit cannot be used by students or visitors. The EH&S departmental tag may be checked out with admin staff. State Departmental Permit EH&S vehicles have a State Departmental Permit affixed to the windshield. Rental If a car, van, or truck is needed for longer than a couple of hours, instead of using one of the EH&S department vehicles, a vehicle can be reserved through Transportation Services. These vehicles are only used for official ISU business and may be used for approved professional development trips in or out of state. Vehicles are picked up and dropped off at Transportation Services, 919 Haber Road. To reserve a vehicle, send an email to the account clerk with the following information: • destination • purpose • vehicle • driver • account number • pick up (date and time) • drop off (date and time) • number of occupants (including driver) Once the account clerk makes the reservation online, an email confirmation will be sent from Transportation Services to the driver and the driver’s supervisor. Driving ISU Vehicles Departmental vehicles are available for EH&S tasks only. They cannot be used for rides home, to class and etc. If a vehicle is needed for a long period of time, have someone give you a ride and call the office when you are ready to be picked up. Before taking a vehicle, make sure the vehicle is available and hasn’t already been reserved by someone else. Reserve a vehicle through the Intranet, keys are kept in the Distribution Center. If you are using a vehicle and notice that the tank is ½ full, as a courtesy, go to Transportation Services and fill it up. If you are in an accident, please notify your supervisor or the main EH&S phone number (515) 294-5359. Accident forms are located in the glove box. Also, vehicles cannot be parked in reserved spaces. When driving a university vehicle, you are expected to be a courteous driver and obey the traffic laws. All employees and
