33 Employee Helpful Stuff VACATION Vacation days should be requested as far in advance as possible. Supervisors should be as flexible as possible granting time off. See the Benefit SOP for more details. Below is a list of vacation accruals and maximums for Merit and P&S employees. VACATION CREDIT Formerly converted sick leave. Full-time or part-time employees (who accrue vacation and accumulate a minimum of 240 hours of sick leave credits) may elect to convert sick leave to vacation for any month that no sick leave is used. The conversion ratio is 12 hours of sick leave for 4 hours of vacation for full-time employees; the conversion is pro-rated for part-time employees. Full-time employees may accrue a maximum of 12 days (96 hours) of vacation from sick leave conversion. For part-time employees the accrual maximum is pro-rated. To start or stop accruing converted sick leave, see the Monthly Leave Correction Request / Conversion Request form. The account clerk submits this form to Payroll and keeps a copy for Admin records.
