2 Weather Radio Alarms Who needs to be notified? Weather Coordinators are responsible for developing notification plans for their departments or buildings. In the event of a weather-related emergency, building occupants must be notified quickly to ensure everyone reaches shelter as soon as possible. Make sure to include • People in the building. • People working in other departmental buildings without a weather radio. • People working at remote job sites or in the field. • People requiring special notifications (e.g. mobility, sight, or hearing impaired). • All classrooms and teaching laboratories. A notification plan template is available. Environmental Health and Safety can assist to develop and practice planning activities. Remember Tornado Watch - Conditions are favorable for a tornado to form in the watch area. Tornado Warning - A tornado has been sighted in the area - take shelter immediately.
